Hourly base pay rate is $23.17 - $34.81/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Description

Cox Automotive is hiring a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist. This hybrid position, located in Atlanta, Georgia, focuses on all Accounts Payable functions within Enterprise Finance & Accounting Accounts Payable. The position is responsible for, but not limited to, customer service management of phone and email inquiries across all areas of Accounts Payable including resolution of escalated inquiries, transaction reconciliations, payment research, creation and processing help desk incidents in SNOW, mail automation and invoice workflow optimization best practices. This position is also responsible for training new Accounts Payable Specialists and cross training existing Accounts Payable Specialists. This position interacts with external stakeholders such as suppliers and customers. Additionally, this position partners with business stakeholders such as Supply Chain, Controller, Assistant Controller, and/or Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate must be detailed oriented, possess excellent written and verbal communication, customer focused, able to prioritize and multitask, strong analytical skills, with a proven track record of success within Accounts Payable & Customer Service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee resolution of daily incoming/outgoing phone and email requests across all AP functions.

• Research, troubleshoot, and resolve complex exceptions across all AP Functions within defined service level agreements

• Review & Reconcile supplier statements for billing optimization efficiency, resolve unapplied credits and supplier refund checks.

• Create and track Service Station incidents for Cox internal/external customers

• Work closely with internal/external customers to resolve billing issues/disputes with excellent customer service

• Partner with various accounting divisions for analysis and any re-class entries for AP transactions to ensure accuracy of Cox financial records

• Research and troubleshoot system accounting errors.

• Train new Accounts Payable Specialists that are onboarded

• Partner with other Cox Client Support groups to maintain cross-departmental connections and train on Accounts Payable policy and procedures

• Assist in process development and Standard Operating Procedures documentation for Accounts Payable

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 5+ years’ experience in Accounts Payable in fast paced environment

• A candidate may also have any level degree or certification beyond HS diploma/GED with 3+ years of experience

• Accounts Payable (i.e. CAPP, APS, APM) certification preferred

• Strong written and verbal communication skills required

• Effective accounting and organizational skills required

• High degree of accuracy & attention to detail

• Strong time management skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule between the hours of 8 AM – 6 PM

• Working with customers to resolve payment issues, excellent customer service track record

• Month end closing processes and knowledge of account principles

• Experience working in a team environment

• Expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint presentations

• Microsoft Office, Oracle Accounts Payable (11i or 12R) strongly preferred
