Function:

Accompanies executive management when situations warrant, inclusive of travel with the executive in and outside principal's primary area of operation.  Provides safe transport to and from work-related events during and outside business hours as needed.  Arranges and coordinates additional transportation and security resources when such needs are identified.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist higher management in promoting the overall mission of the Executive Protection program including supporting strategic protection initiatives.
• Work in a confidential and discrete manner with colleagues and external authorities.
• Relay relevant feedback from executive clients and escalate issues to higher management.
• Provide safe and secure vehicle ground transportation services for CEO and other select executives while safely operating and maintaining company vehicles.
• Develop and maintain fluency with pertinent Corporate and Departmental systems and software programs.
• Remain current on threat and intelligence information relevant to performance of duties and the safety of the executive.
• Work with all levels of Bank staff, including senior managers.
• Travel within the Bank footprint to carry out job duties.
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

Associate’s degree and a minimum of 1 years’ professional experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 3 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 years’ professional experience

Education and Experience Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice or related field

Familiar with nomenclature and use of firearms

Defensive Driving and/or Executive Protection trained/certified

High degree of physical fitness 

Experience with Physical Security within the financial services industry

Completion of advanced law enforcement leadership training

Prior law enforcement training or other private security

Basic First Aid, CPR and AED trained/certified

Crisis/disaster planning and response experience

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $20.94 - $34.91 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
