The Office of Innovation & Technology (OIT) is the central IT agency for the City of Philadelphia headed by the Chief Information Officer (CIO). OIT oversees all major information and communications technology initiatives for the City of Philadelphia - increasing the effectiveness of the information technology infrastructure, where the services provided are advanced, optimized, and responsive to the needs of the City of Philadelphia’s businesses, residents, and visitors. OIT responsibilities include: identifying the most effective approach for implementing new information technology directions throughout city government; improving the value of the city’s technology assets and the return on the city’s technology investments; ensuring data security continuity; planning for continuing operations in the event of disruption of information technology or communications services; and supporting accountable, efficient and effective government across every city department, board, commission and agency.

Job Description

The Philadelphia International Airport is managed by the Department of Aviation of the City of Philadelphia.  The airport handles approximately 82,000 travelers per day. The airport Information Technology department is headed by the Chief Information Officer (CIO). The Philadelphia International Airport is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Cybersecurity Preparedness Administrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive cybersecurity training programs for our organization's personnel and coordinating incident response preparedness efforts.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, develop, implement, and continuously improve cybersecurity training programs for employees, and stakeholders.
  • Design and deliver engaging (online and in-person) training sessions, workshops, and materials on various cybersecurity topics, including but not limited to social engineering awareness, data protection practices and phishing simulations.
  • Conduct research to identify relevant security threats and training needs for different business units.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify training needs based on emerging threats, regulatory requirements, and organizational changes.
  • Implement security awareness training and education initiatives for employees to promote a culture of security within the organization.
  • Develop and conduct surveys and assessments to gauge employee knowledge and attitudes towards cybersecurity, and maturity of the cybersecurity training programs.
  • Encourage open communication and reporting of suspicious activities.
  • Lead by example and demonstrate a strong commitment to cybersecurity.
  • Lead incident response efforts by coordinating activities across IT, security, legal, and other relevant teams to contain, mitigate, and remediate security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans, playbooks, and communication protocols to ensure a coordinated and effective response to cyber incidents.
  • Develop and lead incident response exercises.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on incident response best practices, including detection, analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery strategies.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in cybersecurity and incident response through continuous learning and professional development activities.
  • Perform other security-related tasks as assigned.
