Rehabilitation Aide: Full Time Days, IP MMC

Atlantic Health System is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join the energetic and innovative team of healthcare professionals in their inpatient department at Morristown Medical Center as a Full Time Rehabilitation Aide. This is a full-time position in which the candidate will enjoy the full array of benefits, as they provide their services during the day, Monday through Friday, and two weekend shifts per month.

The responsibilities of the Rehabilitation Aide are: 

1. Prepares patient for treatment session, as directed by therapist – including but not limited to obtaining shoes/slippers, robe/gown, assistive device and appropriate chair; clear room for easy and safe ambulation and transfers; and communicate with nursing (i.e. disconnect lines/tubes, pain meds, etc.) 
2. Sets patient up after treatment session, as directed by therapist – including but not limited to plugging necessary electrical medical devices, contact nurse for possible IV reconnect and/or medication requests or other patient care needs.
3. Provide patient access to tray table, call bell, and/or phone; provide blankets/sheets for warmth and modesty.
4. Transports patients in a safe and courteous manner
5. Recognizes the physiologic symptoms of dizziness, SOB, and fatigue and reports them to the professional staff.
6. Successfully completes all competencies with in required time frame
7. Cleans equipment and supplies within established guidelines.
8. Maintains order and adequate volume of supplies and equipment in all assigned locations (gym and patient areas)
9. Follows guidelines for maintaining expiration on supplies for PT, OT, ST disciplines.
10. Maintains orderly, clean, and safe environment.
11. Demonstrates knowledge of and practices department safety procedures; including the safe handling of hazardous substances and hand washing
12. Performs various clerical/administrative tasks including phone/desk coverage, copying/faxing/distribution of documents.
13. Other duties as assigned

Required:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2.  Weekend and weekday availability.

Preferred:
1. Prior experience working with patients preferred.
