The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Part Time Student - Embedded Software Engineering for John Deere Intelligent Solutions you will:

 

• Be part of a team working on Precision Ag Displays.
• Design, implement, and test new embedded software features related to mapping and recording Precision Ag operations.
• Utilize and improve your engineering skills with C++, Qt, CI/CD, Git and other technologies.

What Skills You Need

 

• Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (others may apply).
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
• Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours/weekly.
• Available to work during the summer semester 30-40 hours/weekly.
• Exposure to one or more programming languages: C, C++, Java

• Exposure to continuous integration and continuous deployment concepts.
• Exposure to Test Driven Development practices.
• Experience with embedded systems concepts such as operating systems, messaging protocols and real time considerations.  
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies. 
• Flexible working hours, generally between 8:00am - 5:00pm CST
