We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our team in Lowell, AR. Having automotive, diesel, or transportation industry experience is highly preferred, but not required.
Position Overview:
As a Service Writer, you will be the vital link between our customers and the service department. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately document service requests, provide estimates, and ensure smooth communication throughout the service process. You will play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service and contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.

Job Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and welcome them to the service department.
- Gather customer information regarding necessary repairs, payment methods, and obtain PO numbers if required before work begins.
- Initiate repair orders, detailing the work to be performed, and assign and schedule service tasks.
- Communicate customer account status to all associates in the service department to ensure timely payments.
- Answer phones for the service department to schedule incoming work or assist customers with their needs.
- Handle incoming calls for all departments, routing them to the appropriate person or taking messages when call volume is high.
- Process completed jobs by entering a clear description of repairs performed, reviewing technician hours, and verifying all parts listed on the repair order.
- Manage all billing processes for the service department.
- Record serialized part numbers or repair orders and register parts online.
- Bill internal shop jobs as necessary.
- Monitor daily mechanic time sheets.
- Prepare final billing and mail all repair and counter orders.
- Receive payments from C.O.D. customers.
- Balance the cash drawer regularly.
- Process monthly and weekly invoices.
- Assist in the parts department as needed.
- Prepare the weekly payroll spreadsheet.
