District Manager – Philadelphia

 

PURPOSE

The District Manager is responsible for driving sales revenue and product line growth required by the business plan.  District manager will report directly to Regional Manager.  District Manager will have varying account responsibility based on number of direct reports within his district, sales, opportunity, and customer base.  The architecture of the districts is as follows:  The district is located within NE sales region.  Within the district, territory managers are responsible for driving sales and product line growth initiatives.

 

LOCATION: Inside the Philadelphia District

District Manager to reside and work within the district boundaries. Based on current geography and location of the direct reports, the recommendation is to work from a home office near the Philadelphia area (Eastern PA, NJ, CT, MD).

 

RESPONSIBILIITES

  • Direct sales responsibility to deliver the business plan revenue.                                   
  • Manage a district, within a region, with a wide variety of industries.                 
  • May have personal accounts to manage within said district depending on size and number of direct reports.
  • Covering the full breadth of Engineered Bearings & Industrial Motion Products including bearings, PT, and services across all front ends.  (Services is predominantly bearing repair but requires channel coordination with the services business).                                                        
  • Establish and drive execution of effective growth strategies while managing channel issues between distributors, end users, and regional OEM's.                                                        
  • Depending on District size and location, the District Manager will be responsible for the regional independent distributor management & managing the relationships with larger distributor's regional leadership teams.  Represents Timken appropriately at senior levels of management across all customer types and sizes.               
  • Regional OEM's & Industrial Distribution decisions on which channel to utilize to maximize sales.
  • Responsible for price approval and price strategy execution with District.                                              
  • Manage the integration and subsequent complexities of acquisitions (Aurora, ARB, GGB, etc...).  
  • Team comprised of Territory Managers & Sales Specialists.

 

TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • Demonstrated sales experience
  • Intimate knowledge of our product & applications in a large variety of markets and industries.
  • Background working with customers and developing long term customer relationships
  • Ability to network across company matrix
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated abilities to establish and nurture relationships with key internal and external customers
  • Proven success in leading projects and teams
  • Ability to develop business plans
  • Solid team leadership skills for employee development and functional continuous improvement


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or similar strongly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience working with customers and developing long-term customer relationships and partnerships strongly preferred.
  • Position level will be dependent upon years of qualified, relevant experience and education.
