About the role:
As a Software Engineer you could work with bleeding edge technology as you build innovative fintech products that change the way the world pays. This will involve developing core versions of software applications, identifying client requirements and technical specifications, interacting with engineering groups and training clients on applications.

About the team:

The team builds software services to support processing payments and settlement in the alternative payment method space.  Think payment methods which are non-credit cards.  Our ideal team size tends to be 6 developers, 2 test analysts, and 1 team lead.  The team works together in all phases of the software development lifecycle from user story writing through production support.

What you will be doing:

• Designing, programming, debugging and modifying software enhancements.

• Interacting with product managers and users to define requirements and modifications.

• Participating in software design meetings to determine technical requirements.

• Working with internal Client Training, Client Relationship and Sales teams.

What you will need:

• Experience with end-to-end systems development life cycles and standards.

• Knowledge of financial industry practices, regulations and operations.

• Fluency in sequence diagrams, class models, etc.

• Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines.

• A bachelor’s in computer engineering, computer science or other related discipline or equivalent experience.

• Ability to work well independently and within a team

• Working in AWS, OpenShift Platform

• Java design and programming skills

• Experience with unit testing (JUnit, Mockito, etc.)

• SQL schema design and programming skills

Added bonus if you have:

• Experience with design and implementation of monitoring and responsive, self-healing resilient, immutable platforms

• Knowledge of scalability levers in high volume, low latency transactional systems

• Experience with IntelliJ, Splunk, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Git

• Familiarity with NOSQL databases like Cassandra

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $115,590.00 - $194,180.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
