Waterborne Security Boat Instructor

Description

Prevailance is seeking an experienced, mission-focused professional to support Center for Security Forces (CENSECFOR) as a Waterborne Security Boat Instructor. This is a High-Risk instructor position that shall perform classroom and operational instruction. Travel may be required.

Requirements

Waterborne Security Boat Instructors must have the following qualifications:

• Instructor Certification
  • Navy Instructor (9502) or equivalent qualification.
• Operational Security Boat Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of documented experience in operational security boat roles, serving in any of the following:
    • Navy Harbor Security Maritime Detachment
    • USMC Small Craft Company
    • U.S. Navy Coastal Riverine Forces (CRF) Detachment
    • U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant Crewman (SWCC)
    • USCG Shore-Based Boat Unit or Maritime Patrol Forces, with experience on vessels such as:
      • Fast Response Cutters (FRC)
      • Patrol Boats (WPB)
      • Coastal Patrol Boats (CPB)
    • USCG Deployable Specialized Forces (DSF), including:
      • Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT)
      • Maritime Safety & Security Team (MSST)
      • Port Security Unit (PSU)
• Instructional Skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver group-paced instruction on security boat tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Proficient in safety and operational risk management, classroom teaching fundamentals, training requirements and planning, and scenario scripting.
• Tactical and Leadership Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of documented tactical and leadership experience in a maritime environment.
  • Proficient in operation and routine maintenance of Navy Force Protection boats, including the following:
    • Coxswain Skills:
      • Launch and recovery
      • Open water and confined space maneuvering
      • High-speed tactical maneuvering
      • Towing in open and restricted waters
    • Maritime Navigation Proficiency:
      • Strong understanding of navigation aids, rules of the road, plotting coordinates, and chart reading.
      • Skilled in dead reckoning, coastal piloting, and night navigation.
• Small Boat Operations Knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of tactical small boat operations, including:
    • Boat team organization
    • Day/night patrols
    • Maritime Interdiction Operations (MIO)
    • Escort and live fire operations
    • Risk assessment and ORM process application
• Craft System Operation and Maintenance
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining craft navigation systems and communication equipment (water jet and propeller systems).
• Logistical Experience
  • Skilled in logistical movement of small craft and gear, including preparing for road transits and hoisting operations.
• Tactical Operations Planning
  • Experience in military decision-making, patrol coordination, concept of operations development, and mission debriefing.
• Swimming Qualification
  • Able to qualify as a Second Class Swimmer per NETC P1552/16 standards.
• Vision Requirements
  • Must have normal color vision (FALANT color vision test) and no night blindness.
• Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
