About the role

The Business Process Consultant is responsible for driving operational efficiency and optimizing business processes to enhance return on investment (ROI) and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs). This role requires a strong focus on process mapping, utilizing advanced analysis tools, and applying recognized improvement frameworks to identify and implement best practices for our external clients. The consultant will collaborate with external clients to analyze current processes, design more efficient workflows, and lead initiatives that align with the organization's strategic objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead the identification, analysis, and re-engineering of business processes to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize ROI.
  • Develop and implement process improvement strategies that are aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Create detailed process maps to visually represent current workflows and identify bottlenecks, redundancies, and areas for improvement.
  • Use advanced process mapping tools such as Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or similar software to document and analyze workflows.
  • Conduct gap analyses to compare current state processes with desired outcomes, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Leverage data and analytics to inform decisions about process changes and validate the impact on business performance.
  • Use statistical analysis to evaluate process performance and identify trends, patterns, and areas for further improvement.
  • Define, monitor, and analyze KPIs to measure the effectiveness of process improvements and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Provide regular reports and dashboards that track KPI performance, using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
  • Utilize a variety of analysis tools such as SWOT Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Pareto Analysis to identify process inefficiencies and determine root causes.
  • Implement recognized process improvement frameworks (e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen) to drive systematic change and ensure sustainable improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the deployment of process improvement initiatives, ensuring that changes are integrated effectively and deliver measurable results.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables for process improvement projects.
  • Develop and execute change management plans to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, including training, communication, and support strategies.
  • Act as a change agent within the organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Provide training and support to teams on new processes, tools, and improvement methodologies.
  • Develop and disseminate best practices for business processes across the organization, ensuring consistency and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Regularly review and update process documentation to reflect changes and ensure accuracy.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging best practices in process improvement to continually enhance the organization’s operations.
  • Participate in process improvement communities of practice to share knowledge and learn from others in the field.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of six years of experience in business process improvement, operational efficiency, or a related area, with a strong background in process mapping, analysis tools, and improvement frameworks.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Expertise in process mapping and the use of tools like Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and software such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Strong understanding of process improvement frameworks like Lean, Six Sigma (certification preferred), and Business Process Reengineering (BPR).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply quantitative and qualitative methods to complex business challenges.
  • Superior communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time management skills.

Location & Travel Requirements: This is a remote-eligible position, however, Marco Technologies requires employees to reside within one of the following states: DE, FL, IA, IL, IN, KY, MD, MI, MN, MO, ME, NE, ND, NJ, PA, RI, SD, TX, WI. This position may also require occasional travel.
