About the role

Job Description

The Division of Family and Child Health (DFCH) of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is charged with the creation and oversight of programs, policies, services, and environments that support physical and socio-emotional health, and promote primary and reproductive health services, health equity, social justice, safety and well-being for New York City families and children. The Division is comprised of the Bureau of Maternal Infant and Reproductive Health, the Bureau of Early Intervention, the Office of School Health, and the Bureau of Administration. Duties will include but not be limited to:

Provide clinical and administrative oversight of NYC NFP to both DOHMH and non-DOHMH contracted vendor sites
Create/implement QA/QO measures and support administrators and supervisors in implementation of same
Participate in NFP CAB meetings, represent DOHMH teams and ensure attendance is entered into national database system
Review and prepare program budget in collaboration with Senior Director
Provide direct supervision to nurse supervisors
Provide backup to all NYC DOHMH NFP teams if administrator or supervisor is out
Assure appropriate staffing and supervision at sites, provide ongoing guidance to assure high quality program performance
Oversee all clinical issues at all DOHMH sites
Provide direct supervision to Manager of Mental Health and Strategic Partnerships
In collaboration with NSO Nurse Consultant and/or Senior Clinical Staff of DOHMH NFP
Oversee quality assurance measures and support administrators and supervisors in implementation of same
Oversee accuracy and timeless of reports and facilitate review of reports
Oversee timely implementation of improvement plans and monitor results
Monitor service provision by review of reports and regular site visits
Assist and support new team supervisors in their efforts to build and sustain their sites, sharing lesson learned and best practices across NCY NFP teams; orientation to include ensuring that all trainings are done in a timely manner--those required by NSO and DOHMH
Organize, coordinate and facilitate leadership and superior meetings and NYC NFP trainings and events
Oversee creation and implementation of Electronic Case Management Systems (ECME) for NYC NFP; collaborate with NSO, IT and all NYCNFP sites on this project
Provide support and training to all NYC NFP staff in ECMS
Update and revise Internal QI tools for clinical and program review
Maintain on-going communication with the National NFP and NFP programs throughout the nation to keep informed of the recent developments and changes and keep NCY NFP staff informed of all updates
Collaborate with NYC NFP staff in establishing relationships with key community providers and agencies; in collaboration with central office outreach team and all site supervisors and administrators, do presentations and perform outreach as needed
In collaboration with other central office clinical staff, review all NYC NFP Adverse Event Reports, perform follow-up as needed, act as a liaison with OCQMI

Preferred Skills:

At least two years of nursing experience in hospital or community setting preferably OB/GYN, Pediatrics,
Family Practice, Maternal Child Health, or Mental Health. Previous experience working in low-income communities ais a plus; prior in supervising and management is preferred
