Facilities Maintenance Manager is an onsite position located in Carlsbad, CA
Your Role:
The Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the site readiness of all aspects of building infrastructure and process equipment in order to ensure a safe and functional workplace for all colleagues at the Carlsbad EMD Electronics site.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Responsible for leading the following teams at the site: Mechanical Maintenance, Electrical and Instrument, Facilities, Maintenance Engineering, Project Management and Site Security.
- Foster a collaborative and high impact work culture through coaching, guidance, and support to teams.
- Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback to team members.
Facilities and Maintenance Oversight:
- Applies knowledge of security, safety and environmental processes, practices, and regulations to maintain a safe and compliant site.
- Utilize concepts of engineering, quality and lean six sigma to drive departmental efficiencies and value creation.
- Manage service provider activities and contract administration including scope development and bid evaluation.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively across teams and functions at the site (and external to the site) to ensure all internal customer expectations from a facilities and maintenance perspective are met or exceeded.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical or mechanical) or related field (facilities, industrial or maintenance management). Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
- 3 + years’ experience in a managerial role leading first line supervisors and their employees.
- 5+ years’ experience in an operations, industrial or manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the chemical or pharmaceutical/biotechnical industry.
- Experience managing building infrastructure systems.
- Demonstrated safety focus.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including knowledge of lean six sigma methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage expense and capital budgets.
- Project management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to effectively interface with multiple levels within an organization.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA (CFR 1910/1926), Title 8 (CCR), ASHRAE, Building, Fire, NFPA codes.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of SAP or Oracle and their associated Maintenance modules.
Pay Range for this position - $69,800 - $209,400
