Director, Patient Advocacy and Engagement for Vaccines and AIR

Representing the largest portfolio of U.S. vaccines and an extensive respiratory portfolio, this position leads the GSK U.S. patient advocacy efforts. GSK partners with diverse not-for-profit groups including Patient Advocacy Groups (PAGs), Public Health Groups, disease agnostic not-for profits like the Alliance for Aging Research, and advocacy-focused arms of Health Professional Associations like the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases that progress common objectives and help empower patients across key advocacy communities.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional GSK teams, Government Affairs, Public Policy, Market Access, Commercial, Health Equity, Communications and Legal and Compliance to build and execute a long-term strategic plan for proactive engagement.
Identify, profile, and prioritize Patient Advocacy Groups, Vaccine Coalitions, Provider Groups and Public Health Groups and develop strategy for engagement with key stakeholder groups to enrich partnerships and reflect needs of business.
Own and manage established relationships and partnerships that may include initiatives and partnerships that are supported by monetary contributions, as well as information-sharing and other opportunities for engagement around shared objectives.
Represent GSK in key vaccine coalitions to share insights and represent the organization’s commitment to prevention and public health.
Raise awareness at the Federal level of the benefits of broad access to vaccines, respiratory products and advocating for reduction the barriers to broad access.
Compliantly manage an extensive grants and sponsorship portfolio.
Why You?
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree -BA/BS
Mission driven with a minimum of 5+ years of public health experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the U.S. federal and state vaccine landscape, prevention environment, and an ability to develop strategy to shape the respective landscapes.
Domestic travel with up to 25%, including some weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree of Public Health, Health Policy, or another related field
Based in Washington, DC , prefer local candidates.
Strong communication and external engagement skills
Commitment to understanding and following all relevant guidelines for appropriate interactions.
