Principal Database Engineer (multiple positions)

Zuora, Inc. seeks Principal Database Engineers (multiple positions) to:

• Design, build, and maintain database backend services with Python, Jenkins, Terraform, AWS API, and Kubernetes. 
• Author automation code for database engineering teams and develop database management systems. 
• Provide database tuning, migration, service, and production support. 
• Manage multiple project initiatives and provide the Proof of Concept (PoC) for new database automation, backup, and consolidation with cutting-edge technologies. 
• Develop and upgrade ongoing first-class production-level projects. 
• Design database management tools with AWS- and Kubernetes-related automations.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience with database administration and automation. Experience must include at minimum: 

1. 5 years of experience with relational database management systems, including AWS, MySQL, and PostgreSQL; 
2. 5 years of experience with creating shell scripts to perform database operations; 
3. 5 years of experience with database platform management using Python; 
4. 5 years of experience with automating database operations using Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Terraform; and 
5. 5 years of experience with managing MySQL on financial production systems, including automation and system orchestration.

The base pay details represent the annualized salary range for the posted position. While we share a comprehensive range, a candidate’s final base salary will fall within these guidelines and will be determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to: qualifications of the candidate, job related knowledge, prior related experience, specific and unique skills, the location of the role, internal equity and internal budget.
