Pay Range

The director is responsible for the planning, organization and supervision of the Cheel Campus Center/Arena and related programs. The director will contribute to the master plan, comprehensive plan and capital repair and replacement schedule. The individual must provide exceptional leadership and direction of facility and work well in a team oriented environment.
Directly responsible for all facets of operation of Cheel Arena
Responsibilities
- NCAA Division I/III Compliance
- Develop and promote a broad spectrum of diverse activities and services for all user segments with in college setting/community
- Evaluate staffing needs (including recruitment , hiring , training and evaluation and make adjustments to insure professional customer service in friendly team oriented environment
- Oversee / administer all game management needs for both Division I men’s and women’s games)
- Assist in develop and implement a marketing strategy for both Division I hockey teams season ticket sales[ Men’s / women’s]
- Oversee/administer all box office staff/ sales/deposits and business office protocols
- Oversee/administer payroll for entire student staff
- Prepare and administer annual budget for arena using budget software
- Assist in developing a marketing plan for athletics, and assist in selling of advertisements/sponsorships for all athletic facilities
- Administer and coordinate all summer camps/ special events for department
- Handle all ice rentals/ as well as approving all facility requests of Cheel campus center
- Handle all away ticket sales /logistics
- Perform other duties and functions as directed
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sports Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
BA/BS required. The Arena director has no established hours , yet is required to invest the time necessary to produce exceptional results. Must have 3-5 year’s experience in sales and marketing and/or related sports management field. The successful candidate will have outstanding writing and verbal communications skills, a team oriented attitude, and strong work ethic. Applicant must excel at dealing with the general public and be comfortable with sales related duties. Individual must be proficient with computer program’s such as Excel, Publisher & Word. Individual must be organized, very self-motivated, be able to multi-task, handle pressure situations with minimal supervision. Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the University. Must be willing to work weekends.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree Business, Sports Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
