About the role

The Senior Production Planner performs production and material planning support for Manufacturing Operations. This individual develops the material support plans, reviewing material requirements for availability and ensuring that supply orders are launched in a timely manner. The Senior Production Planner is expected to be the primary contact from various departments to resolve any scheduling or planning issues.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and schedule the production build plan, releasing assembly orders according to schedule, and tracking and reporting its status through completion
  • Evaluate and schedule raw material requirements to ensure availability, working closely with Buyers
  • Lead and organize meetings as necessary between Program Office and Supply Chain
  • Lead cross functional activities to coordinate resolutions to various issues
  • Optimize and create tools necessary for improvement of the supply chain
  • Coordinate the incorporation of engineering changes
  • Analyze and manage the OTD metrics and reporting based on corporate requirements
  • Work within given constraints of quality and flight authority requirements
  • Organize, plan, and schedule accordingly to improve workflow and meet customer needs
  • Provide communication to various departments regarding data and reporting gathered through various tools
  • Responsible for the monthly sales goal and providing direction as needed to meet them
  • Analyze material forecasts in order to minimize costs and delay of material for all product line
  • Work with respective departments to minimize supply chain interruption and delivery slowdown
  • Make cost effective material management decisions in the best interest of the company
  • Lead and support junior planners as necessary
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in Production planning
  • Strong knowledge of computer programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Experience with MRP and ERP systems
  • APICS CPIM Certification

Benefits

The starting pay range for this position is $74,00 to $93,000 per year however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
