Principal Database/Performance Engineer (Database Architect)

The Venture Medical equipment. Electronics. Automotive parts. Every year, $13T of physical products like these are manufactured, bought, and sold between companies around the globe, giving people and societies the tools they need to function. Yet 90% of the work necessary to run these manufacturing processes consists of companies negotiating on purchase orders via email and tracking them manuallyin Excel! This leads to debilitating inefficiencies, recurrent errors, and unfulfilled orders that bring assembly lines or entire societies to a halt. This is an Amazon-sized problem that has been largely overlooked for 20 years. Since our founding nearly two years ago, Regrello has taken an engineering-driven, human-centric approach to addressing this very problem, with the necessary vision, research, talent, industry experience, and strategic partnerships to finally solve it. Our founding team has experience building billion-dollar companies and includes veterans from Palantir, Apple, Tableau, Oracle, McKinsey, and more. We are funded by Andreessen Horowitz, Tiger Global, Dell, Bloomberg, and Ram Shriram (the first investor into Google). 
The Product Our goal is to build the global operating network for manufacturing and operations. Today, we have a powerful no-code workflow engine that allows supply-chain managers to configure and run their own processes in just hours, looping in internal and external parties, integrating with existing systems and third-party APIs, and working beautifully over email to drive cross-company adoption. Tomorrow, we'll aim to power the entire manufacturing process in an entire ERP suite, leveraging the data to build ML-driven optimizations that can further automate customers' supply chains  
The Role We are looking for a senior database performance engineer who's seen it all, and who can partner with our expert and out-of-college engineers alike to optimize deeply complex features and help design and scale our application and database as we grow.

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science or related field (MS/PhD is a plus)
• 10+ years of industry experience as a performance or database engineer at an enterprise technology company
• 10+ years database experience working with Oracle or PostgreSQL or MySQL or Mongodb
• Experience with data warehousing technology like snowflake, bigquery, bigtable, or spark
• Experience with Python and Shell and any other languages used in system tooling (e.g. Ruby, Perl)
• Experience in document stores like MongoDB or Jsonb is a plus
• 5+ years experiences in Data modeling, performance tuning, and distributed databases
• Background in in-memory systems and distributed computing is a plus
• Experience working with Enterprise Scale Applications; billions of rows and/or millions of users
• Experience working as or closely with Database Administrators (DBA)Experience with automation tooling and end-to-end understanding of the database and applications ecosystem

• We were founded 2 years ago inspired by work done on the Covid supply chain for the US/UK govt
• We have 31 people, with 15 engineers (including a Directory of Security), 3 PMs, 1 Designer/PM, industry experts and sales folks, and our product-led CEO
