JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Staff Accountant - OneCare Vermont is responsible for performing various duties related to the completion of timely and accurate monthly financial statements for The University of Vermont Medical Center and related entities, including workpapers for assigned general ledger accounts. He/she will record transactions for designated sections of The University of Vermont Medical Center financial statements. He/she may also be assigned initial responsibility for maintaining the financial records of an entire related entity. He/she is also responsible for providing support to the financial specialists, senior and lead accountants and department managers as well as providing backup for other staff accountants as needed.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, required within two years of hire and/or would consider Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field, combined with related work experience.
EXPERIENCE:
No prior experience required if individual possesses a four-year Accounting degree. Tax return preparation experience is helpful.
