Your Mission

This position as Portfolio Director will work in the Corporate Project Management Office reporting to VP, CPMO. A highly motivated, skilled program manager with proven experience overseeing projects from initial concept to launch. The Portfolio Director will oversee multiple portfolios and projects, and project managers at a time, working efficiently with internal and external stakeholders to define project objectives, create project plans, manage the budget, and adherence to deadlines established.

A successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of payment processing, as well an extensive background in project management leadership.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management and delivery of projects within multiple portfolios, including client and platform migrations.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure full-scale project plans are developed and associated communication document.
  • Ensure organization readiness project deliverables as well as the technical readiness are identified within the project scope and schedule (plan) documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.

Qualifications (Skills/Experience)

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including cross-team collaboration, coaching and team building.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and development teams.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as detailed knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
  • Sufficient level of a business and technical background to provide leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately evaluate project risks and issues.
  • A proven track record of successfully leading projects to ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel and matrix management.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/University Degree in relevant field.
  • MUST HAVE PMP Certification
  • MINIMUM 6 years project management
  • MINIMUM of 2 year experience payment processing/fintech or technology related industry.
  • 1-2 year experience leading PMO teams
  • Expert at defining, and monitoring and controlling the scope, cost, schedule baselines; Expert at defining and managing critical path; Expert practitioner of governance and resource management; Expert practitioner of formal change request management.
  • Expert at utilizing MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Travel up to 25%
