What you will do

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer for a 6 month contract. As a Senior Product Designer at Karat, you will regularly exercise your passion for designing elegant, inclusive, and goal-directed product experiences. As a pragmatic design thinker and maker, you will solve for the needs of the people that use our portfolio of products, making our interfaces come to life with intent, empathy, and delight.

• Execute with a high level of quality on large projects with a significant impact on company-level metrics. 
• Prototype smart and quickly with quality thinking.
• Reframe and refine goals in terms of human outcomes.
• Plan the involvement of others required for success, including creating effective meetings to drive progress. 
• Go beyond best practices with diverse methods and novel approaches tailored for business and user impact.
• Anticipate challenges and propose improvements to estimates, approaches, and deliverables.  
• Contribute to the relentless improvement of the discipline, helping to spread better tools, frameworks, and methods.

The experience you will bring

• 6+ years as a professional UX/UI or product designer (undergrad and postgrad design degree is a +)
• Strong portfolio of excellent craft, broad ownership, and high impact across multiple shipped products.
• Knowledge of the latest design patterns, emerging technologies, and other developments in the field
• Confidence in applying best practices to common problems for solid solutions
• Decision-making that is consistently strong, clear, and human-centered 
• Ability to work towards business goals within technical constraints, recognizing that human needs must be balanced with other goals and priorities
• Strong empathy, optimism, and active listening when collaborating closely with other disciplines, partners, and users
• Attention to detail, curiosity and situation-driven ownership
• Ability to determine which feedback you receive is actionable and integrate it into your work

This is a contract position. Immigration sponsorship is not available.

Karat is a remote company with employees throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. For this position, we are only considering individuals based in the United States.

Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. This role may be eligible for additional rewards, including commissions, bonuses, and equity.The base salary pay range across the United States for this role is:$50—$105 USD
