As part of the North America Commercial Excellence team, the Director, Field Force Effectiveness sets and upholds standards for a best-in-class field force customer engagement for North America. This will be accomplished by collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment across our organization, and by staying abreast of current industry trends and compliance guidance to ensure innovative ways of working.
Main Responsibilities & Job Expectations
- Aligns Sales strategy to Marketing strategy
- Ensures pull-through of marketing initiatives
- Enhance field analytics and tools to optimize field execution and customer engagement
- Upskill field leadership and execution
- Drive the development through collaboration of account planning/management roadmap
- Drive strategic and operational alignment for all field medical activities
- Develop field force strategy plans, in partnership with therapeutic area field teams
- Develop and track key performance indicators to demonstrate field force activity and impact
- Partner with Learning and Develop to design and implement selling skills training programs in coordination with cross-functional and global teams
- Creation and execution of field force capabilities expansion plans
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of cross-functional efforts that drive improvements in field force effectiveness, including digital tools
- Provide guidance and expertise to cross-functional teams on field force activities, from prior experience and based on current industry trends and advancements
- Optimize the field insight process, ensuring efficient and high-quality reporting
- Oversight of field force tools, systems and resources, serving as the central point of contact to resolve issues and drive improvements based on team feedback
- Guide strategy for field force process and resource creation and implementation
- Establish and maintain a strong partnership with field force colleagues and cross-functional partners at local and global level
- Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Ipsen U.S. staff
Knowledge, Abilities & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 15 years of related experience.
- Experience as an field leader and sales experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing cross-functional projects with significant business impact
- Excellent understanding of industry guidance and best practices
- Experience with developing, reporting, and tracking field performance metrics
Key Technical Competencies Required
- Proficient in the use of computer software systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, CRM, etc.)
- Ability to work independently.
- Good leadership skills and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable with presentation and reporting to senior leaders Ability to work across multiple functions and cultures.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Excellent English communication skills: written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to deal with competing priorities.
- Strong reasoning and creative solving skills.
The annual base salary range for this position is $177,000 - $259,600
This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentives program as well as our long-term incentives program.

The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.
