Air Liquide’s global capabilities include 10 Advanced Materials Centers (AMCs) where we produce, package, and certify advanced electronics materials ensuring the safety of supply and matching quality expectations of our most demanding customers. These centers are strategically located in electronics hubs including South Korea, Japan, Singapore, the USA, Europe and Taiwan.

Due to the expansion in the Taiwan market, the APAC Project Team is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer, who provides subject matter expertise in mechanical design and mechanical integrity for ALAM's expansion projects.

The primary activities of the Senior Mechanical Engineer are:
1) Create 3D design packages based upon the process specification from Process Engineering and other teams. Designs should meet or exceed requirements for safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, constructability, maintainability, and mechanical integrity.
2) Improvement activities related to commercial chemical manufacturing processes.
3) Provide technical solutions, insights, leadership, and assistance in implementation to all collaborating departments(e.g. Process Engineering, Quality, HSE, etc.)
4) Provide onsite startup support, including sight acceptance testing, completing startup checklists, reviewing and organizing startup documents.
5) Provide mechanical support and oversight during precommissioning and
commissioning.

Design and Develop :

• Work as part of a cross-functional team to develop, design, specify, and commission production equipment for the next generation of materials required for the microelectronics and solar manufacturers. 
• Design standard process equipment solutions that apply across product lines.
• Develop practical solutions to complex technical problems, with systematic traceable design methodology.
• Provide mechanical and process equipment engineering expertise across various product lines and sites
• Validate mechanical equipment and installations, confirming they are done according to the engineering drawings and specifications.
• Perform factory acceptance testing and documents for factory acceptance testing, perform site acceptance testing. 
   

Problem Solving and improvement :

• Troubleshoot process equipment and systems
• Improve the safety of existing manufacturing installations
• Identify and implement methods for manufacturing cost reduction in line with business needs

Project Management :

• Document and communicate institutional knowledge throughout the organization
• Make quantitative, fact-based decisions
• Direct projects to on time, on budget delivery with required safety and quality
• Participate in the training of Maintenance and Production personnel

Are you a MATCH?

Education & Experience :

• BS or MS in mechanical or chemical engineering with strong mechanical aptitude.
• 8 + years of mechanical design experience translatable to the design of chemical process equipment.
• Experienced in electronic and semiconductor chemical materials provider is preferred

Requirement :

• Strong understanding in mechanical engineering, piping and tubing design.
• 3D Solid Modeling experience and Solidworks skills
• Problem solving logically and decision making capability.
• Solution/outcome oriented with safe and reliable
• Self-disciplined and self-driven person, with high adaptability, stress resistance, and willingness to take the initiative to change and continuous improvement.
• Cross-functional communication and influence
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin Chinese
• 15%~20% domestic and international travel for commissioning and support
