SUMMARY:
The Outreach Coordinator for NET’s Violence Intervention and Prevention initiative is responsible for community outreach, program marketing, distribution of program material, working with vendors to maximize youth participation, door-to-door canvasing and engagement of service area stakeholders such as schools, local businesses, recreation centers, religious institutions, police department and other community partners. This role provides critical community insights and is an active participant in strategic community campaigns aimed at raising awareness of NET’s anti-gun violence programs and services. The position is also essential for NET’s partnership development in the service area in efforts to expand existing partnership pool in efforts to maximize community collaboration.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 plus years of community outreach work; or a bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of 3 years in an administrative or clerical role; prior experience in a mental health or social services setting is advantageous.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
· Strong organizational and time management abilities; excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated empathy and concern for program participants; must be a flexible, proactive team player capable of navigating diverse site environments
