Job Overview

 

We are currently looking for a Global Logistics Manager to join our team in Holland, MI.

 

As a Global Logistics Manager, you will:

 

Lead a team of Logistics professionals, designs, implements, maintain, and improve Logistics processes and supporting systems to enable flawless freight movement globally on behalf of North America operations.  This position provides cross-functional logistics expertise to major project initiatives, serves as a primary point of contact for inbound/outbound freight (both domestic and international), manages import/export compliance and trade programs, and oversees procurement of Logistics services.

 

Some of the responsibilities include (but not limited to):

 

  • Leads team of Logistics professionals. Leads critical thinking, embracing collaboration, and driving continuous self and department improvement.  This role will develop and train next generation of Haworth Supply Chain Leaders.
  • Drives development and implementation of logistics processes to provide optimum customer satisfaction at lowest total supply chain cost.
  • Provides input into departmental budget development and is accountable for budget adherence. 
  • Develops, monitors, and is accountable for department goals and objectives to ensure strategic alignment with Delivery Value Stream goals and objectives.
  • Manages compliance and trade agreement programs ensuring Haworth meets necessary regulatory requirements and utilizes programs advantageous to organization.
  • Manages communication, relationships, collaboration and support of internal customers ensuring strategic and operational alignment.
  • Organizes and leads cross-functional members and activities to ensure logistics projects are completed on plan, on time, and within budget. 
  • Engages in procurement activity as it relates to carrier rate/contract negotiation, logistics services and software providers.
  • Serves as source for current and relevant knowledge in area of Domestic and International Logistics, and Global Trade compliance.
     

Do you have these required qualifications?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.  Continuing education in Supply Chain, Data Engineering, or Finance is preferred.
  • 10+ years of related experience in Logistics.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role with responsibility for member development coaching.  In lieu of direct leadership responsibility, significant project work where leadership skills were successfully demonstrated.
     

Do you have these preferred qualifications?

 

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in global transportation and supporting infrastructure preferred.
  • Experience in SAP, Manhattan, FourKites, and Thompson Rueters.

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of logistics processes and systems.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with original and independent thinking; strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent data and business analysis skills.
  • Excellent PC-based spreadsheet and word processing software skills with demonstrated technical aptitude. 
  • Ability to travel overnight away from corporate offices up to 15% of the time.
