The Impact You’ll Make

Lam’s Manufacturing Technical Instructor is responsible for executing Manufacturing Academy programs supporting Tualatin manufacturing employees. The primary focus for this role will be training new and existing employees, independently delivering content, qualifying floor trainers on how to operate fixtures safely, as well as recording completions in the LMS. In addition, this trainer will support ad hoc site programs as needed.  This position reports to the Manager, Manufacturing Technical Training.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the facilitation of on-site Manufacturing Academy and site-specific training programs for new hires and existing employees at the Tualatin location.
• Facilitate on-site, hands-on fixtures demonstrations and training at the Tualatin location for manufacturing employees in both classroom and manufacturing floor locations.
• Work, occasionally, as a secondary instructor to reduce student to teacher ratios for classes with high interactivity to ensure learners have access to needed support (troubleshooting, extra coaching, or guidance, etc.)
• Assist with setting up, maintaining, and breaking down learning spaces and communicating with the Training Coordinator to schedule sessions and to ensure classroom readiness.
• Work closely with training team members to ensure quality of courses is consistent and knowledge transfer is achieved.
• Stay current with EH&S policies to better facilitate EH&S owned courses within new hire training programs.
• Assist in tracking assignments and entering completions in the Learning Management System (LMS)
• Reviewing and recommending adjustments to existing materials to enhance facilitation based on stakeholder feedback.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment in all programs in support of Lam’s Core Values.

Who We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a learning & development environment, sales, customer service or manufacturing environment
• Training delivery and facilitation skills with a high impact presence
• Exceptional classroom management and organization skills with deliberate attention to detail
• Capable of inspiring trust and confidence through effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to respond quickly to changes and urgent requests and flex to business needs to adjust plans as needed
• Able to communicate effectively with team members and work collaboratively
• Exhibits a strong sense of self-motivation and capacity to work independently during evening hours, consistently delivering dependable and high-quality performance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows based business computers
• Ability to work onsite in Tualatin, OR Monday through Friday; 11am to 8pm. 
• Ability to occasionally adjust schedule to support classroom requirements and/or business needs.

 

Additional skills and experience beneficial for this role include direct experience with Manufacturing environments in semiconductor or other industries, Wet or Dry Deposition Manufacturing, SAP and other production systems, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and LMS programs such as Cornerstone.
