APD provides critical services and support for customers with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. SALARY RANGE

$39,366.60 - $43,303.26 Annually      $1,514.10 - $1,665.51 Biweekly

The hiring salary may exceed the maximum posted salary.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Promotes residents’ skill acquisition by developing, conducting, supervising, and participating in the overall active treatment plan of the residents assigned to the facility through a variety of therapy programs. 

Develops, conducts, supervises, and participates in social and recreational activities, leisure activities, basic academic development activities, human growth and development, motor activities, prevocational and work-related activities, self-care and daily living skills training. Trains, in-services, and monitors staff in the delivery of resident‑directed services and in preparation of related written programs and reports.  Maintains compliance with state, federal and Medicaid regulations and facility protocols and procedures for implementation and oversight of residents’ daily active treatment.

Evaluates through direct observation, direct interactions, assessments, and record review to develop recommendations regarding residents’ programmatic needs.  Prepares reports for residents’ Individual Support Plans (ISP) and monthly progress notes related to the residents’ ISP goals and objectives.  Prepares other reports as assigned. Develops tracking systems and complies with facility deadlines.  Participates in the ISP meetings, Interdisciplinary Team meetings, and other meetings as they relate to assigned resident caseload.  Monitors each residents’ progress, evaluates if individual resident programs are effective, and takes necessary action to promote progress and maintenance of skill acquisition.

Coordinates, plans, and attends/participates in special activities for residents.  Is flexible with scheduling in regard to attending activities outside of regular work schedule, to include days off.   Maintains open communication with home managers to include but not limited to posting activity calendars and activity flyers.  Ensures that the required resources for these events are in place by requesting and managing the necessary funds and providing and/or assisting with transportation of the individuals to and from programs and activities.  Develops monthly special activity calendars and daily activity schedules.
