Job Description

Job Summary:  The Trade Accounting team is responsible for accurate and timely reporting and analysis of trade related activity covering more than 40 entities across the Americas covering Crude oil and products, Gas, Power and a growing Renewables portfolio. To achieve this requires an enthusiasm to learn systems and processes, the ability to proactively collaborate with various commercial and support teams across the business and an eagerness to improve processes and systems to keep pace with commercial developments.

Specific job duties include:

• Maintaining strong internal systems controls by evaluating PNL results, verifying floating/tank storage volumes, ensuring accurate estimated costs, and clearing Vista exceptions

• Prepare monthly close adjusting entries for revenue recognition, inventory, and prepaid expenses

• Performing monthly reconciliations between the in-house Trading system and the accounting general ledger
• Regularly engaging in discussions with cross-function teams in order to understand the commercial activity we support
• Leading and participating in continuous projects aimed at integrating new businesses and identifying process/system improvements
• Reviewing and analyzing Trade P&L, inventory valuations, accruals, derivative/hedge accounting and various other accounts monthly
• Participating in annual audits

• CPA or CPA candidate with a minimum of 3 years accounting experience, ideally within a commodities trading environment
