About the role
Amazon Corporate Security’s (ACS) Prototype Security team is searching for a program manager who is able to develop, implement, and lead security projects and programs to support Amazon’s prototype device teams. This position will provide Intellectual Property (IP) Protection strategic guidance to all pre-release consumer electronic devices and will support the overall security posture for Amazon’s key customer teams in the technology and product manufacturing space. We believe passionately that employing a diverse workforce is central to our success. We make recruiting decisions based on your experience and skills. We value your passion to discover, invent, simplify and build.
This role will be responsible for leading the Prototype Security's technical team, which includes TPMs, SDEs, and BIE team members. The candidate in this role will help lead and develop this team to think to the future of what technology solutions we can bring to our customers.
You will be part of a cross functional team that is growing, fast-paced, and fun with nearly one hundred people from many groups working on the program at any point in time. Most importantly, you will have ownership of and responsibility for delivering solutions that exceed our customers' expectations. You will bring relevant experience, superior judgement, great detail tracking and follow-through, and strong problem-solving and communications skills to anticipate bottlenecks/tradeoffs, provide escalation management and balance business needs against technical constraints. Most importantly, you will have ownership of and responsibility for delivering solutions that exceed our customers' expectations. We need an individual, who is ready for this challenge and who wants to reach beyond what is possible today.
Key job responsibilities
You’re a good fit if you:
can dive deep into technical details to translate high-level business requirements into working solutions and ask engineers astute questions on programs that you own; are able to recommend alternative technical and business approaches.
have a good understanding of system interactions and automating information/data flows
think big, see the big picture and can break it down to actionable goals and deliverables
can coordinate across many functional areas (including, but not limited to Supply Chain, Support, Training, Vendor & Partners, Transportation, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Automation, Tools Development, Hardware Engineering, Network Engineering and our Manufacturers) in order to deliver a large, complex program by anticipating blockers and making tradeoffs when there are competing priorities
You would:
define the program plan and clearly communicate status, risk and any required mitigations to maintain program timelines and commitments.
work closely with other teams tracking dependencies and deliverables, and launching and coordinating new initiatives to improve our agility and time-to-market.
clearly and concisely communicate goals, roles, responsibilities and desired outcomes
coach and mentor other TPMs on the team
Ability to work in an in-office environment
Ability to travel domestically 10-15% of the time
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
8 + years of experience managing large scale infrastructure hardware programs, including experience writing
3+ years of experience in software development or system integration
3+ years of experience in cross-functional roles and a proven track record of delivering successful products to market documents and narratives for presenting in executive level meetings
Proven record of owning the full product lifecycle from product definition and roadmap through delivery.
Highly motivated self-starter with bias for innovative thinking.
Excellent written and oral communications skills, including experience owing business goals and communicating effectively to executives.
Excellent business judgement, data driven mind and analytical skills, including the ability to coach team leads to identify and solve ambiguous problems. Superior analytical and quantitative skills; experience using data and metrics to test theories, confirm assumptions, and measure success.
High attention to detail and the ability to lead multiple, contending priorities simultaneously.
Demonstrated experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and effectively influence across cross-functional teams.
Ability to think strategically while providing direction to team lead
