Sr. Quality Technician

1. BASIC ACTIVITY
This procedure defines and details the position requirements, function, reporting relationships, authority, responsibilities, duties, and measurements of performance for the position of Quality Inspector.

2. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The following are the minimum requirements to fill this position.
1. High School graduate or equivalent.
2. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Spanish is a plus.
3. Computer skills, including MS Office Excel and Word.
4. 3-5 years in a Quality Inspector role.
5. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, and inspection methods.
6. Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
7. Attention to detail and ability to deal with complexity.
8. Capable of working in a customer-focused, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
3. FUNCTION
1. The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspection and documentation of materials, products and processes.
2. The Quality Inspector is non-supervisory or management. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

4. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
1. The Quality Inspector reports to the Quality Manager.
2. The Quality Inspector has no one reporting to him/her.

5. AUTHORITY
The Quality Inspector has the authority to:
1. Withhold approval of non-conforming materials, products or processes.
2. Release approved material to manufacturing.
3. Release approved product for shipment.
4. Provide “Certificates of Compliance” for approved products.
6. DUTIES
1. Follow all documented procedures and instructions.
2. Perform inspections on materials, products and processes per procedures and instructions.
3. Clearly and accurately document the results of inspections on materials, products and processes per procedures and instructions. This can include filling in forms, computer data entry, and accurate filing of documents in a computer data base as well as in filing cabinets.
4. Notify the Quality Manager or their representative of any failure to meet specifications of materials, products or processes. This notification is to be documented on the Non-conforming Material Report.
5. Notify the Quality Manager or their representative of any missing or conflicting specification in the Work Order Packet.
6. Computer data entry for the following Quality Logs.
7. Receiving/Receiving Inspection
8. Non-conforming Material Report Log
9. Non-conforming Material Reports
10. First Article Inspection Log
11. Quality Control Inspection Log
12. Provide “Approval” for acceptable materials, products and processes.
13. File and maintain records of inspections, audits and retains.
14. Other duties as assigned.

Education
• High school diploma or GED required
• Trade school or college experience is a plus
