Senior Researcher and Project Leader in Steelshop and EAF

Steelmaking, Casting & Scrap Area is one of the Global R&D Spain areas aligned with ArcelorMittal objectives to ensure tomorrow steel production, focused on new green routes, scrap optimized uses, new technologies and solutions for electric routes as well as improving steel processes through global research projects.

Your role

We are looking for a Senior Researcher and Project Leader to work in the steelshop domain, with a special focus in EAF and/or BODF and new process optimization. In this context, your main missions will consist in : 

• Developing and implementing R&D solutions under industrial envrionement and with close contact with other ArcelorMittal's researchers under international scope 
• Managing and coordinating R&D projects as well as supporting ArcelorMittal's plants to implement the most suitable solutions
• Interacting with the whole ArcelorMittal community as well as with external partners (universities, technical centers, suppliers…)
• Working closely with other teams or external partners to develop data driven and AI models 

Your profile

• Master's degree in industrial engineering, mining engineering, material sciences or in a related field.
• Strong technical backgroung in steelmaking, steelshop and/or EAF.
• Proven experience (at least 5 years) in project management as well as in coordinating stakeholders.
• Knowledge in IT and digital technologies that enables you to interact with experts in the domains and you are curious about new technologies and AI. 
• You have outstanding communication skills.
• You have a strong industrial orientation and a team working spirit. You are proactive with a high learning capacity and technological curiosity. 
• Advanced level of English. Spanish is welcomed but not mandatory. The candidate should at least have the willingness to learn. 
• Ability to travel worldwide (up to 30 % of the time)
