OVERVIEW
The Early Career Program is designed to be a highly visible experience. Through a hands-on approach, you will learn various parts of our business and gain technical knowledge of our converting and mill operations. Graphic Packaging interns are assigned a mentor and have opportunities to network with other colleagues and team members in the organization. During your time in the program, you will lead individual and team projects and have an opportunity to make in-person presentations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Converting Engineering – Interns in our packaging facilities will have the opportunity to learn about our packaging converting process while supporting manufacturing, quality, safety and other important functions within our plants.
Interns are responsible for providing support to the assigned Department Managers. Must be able to solve problems and make good, timely decisions, exhibit company core values, and be a change agent for continuous improvement. Interns will work on process improvement projects. A successful candidate will assist in driving best practices in safe operations, will be a self-starter, and willing to take initiative to move forward with ideas.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Comfortable working in heavy manufacturing environment.
- Desire to work on projects.
- Coachable
- Eagerness to learn and develop
- Needs to be self-starter, be self-directed, take initiative to move forward with ideas, be committed and be able to work with and influence others.
- Good analytical skills with attention to detail
- Must learn quickly to analyze data.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities
- Ability and desire to work in a team environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications
- Provide engineering support to other departments as needed.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business
