Department Background:

Position Summary:

  • Maintains appropriate and timely plant care, including watering and fertilizing

  • Monitors greenhouse environment and greenhouse facilities then promptly informs me of any suspected problems

  • Cleans and organizes greenhouses and associated work areas

  • Cleans and sterilizes pots, organizes supplies, and conducts routine maintenance 

  • Mixes and prepares growing media

  • Handles fertilizers, potting materials, and other supplies

  • Autoclave loading, operation, and unloading

  • Interacts in a professional manner with all facility clients and coworkers

  • Helps us maintain a safe work place

  • Fully understands watering notes and executes plant care instructions as described by our growers and checks with myself and our S07 greenhouse growers for clarification when needed

  • Participates in projects or other duties as assigned with occasional work responsibility falling above or below current classification

This is a full-time position at 39-hours per week 97.5% FTE, $20.00 per hour. This is a 3-5 month term appointment that is contingent upon available work, funding, and performance.
