We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will collect, process, and analyze data to support informed business decisions. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify trends, develop reports, and create visualizations that translate complex data into actionable insights, leveraging tools like Excel, Power BI, Python, DAX, SQL, and Power Query M.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Develop and maintain impactful dashboards and reports using Power BI for business performance monitoring and decision support.
- Write advanced DAX measures and Power Query (M language) transformations to enhance report functionality and optimize performance.
- Document data models, definitions, processes, and best practices to support governance and enable self-service analytics.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into actionable insights and reports.
2. Data Analysis & Exploration
- Perform thorough data analysis, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities using tools such as Python (Pandas, NumPy, Seaborn) and Excel (including macros and VBA programming).
- Conduct spatial data analysis and mapping using GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) to support location-based business use cases.
3. Data Modeling & Warehousing
- Support implementation of data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling and SQL-based analysis.
- Support ETL/ELT pipelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring scalable and accurate data ingestion.
- Monitor data pipelines and proactively resolve data integrity or quality issues.
Support management and modeling of data in a data warehouse environment. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, management information systems, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a data analyst or BI analyst role.
- Proficient in Power BI, DAX, SQL, and Power Query M.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including macros and VBA.
- Strong experience in Python for data analysis and transformation.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling (star/snowflake)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric Warehouse, Databricks, or other modern data platforms.
- Familiarity with medallion architecture for scalable data refinement.
- Experience using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, or equivalent) for spatial analysis and map-based reporting.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality assurance
- Exposure to API data integration and version control tools like Git.
- Certifications in Power BI, Azure Data services, or GIS technologies.
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data integration techniques.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling (star/snowflake)
