Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day duties in the coordination and execution of UFEG’s writing and directing programs and initiatives, and on-screen strategies. Engagement includes talent outreach and selection process; developing and executing program curriculums; securing guest speakers and associated event logistics; and maintaining strong relationships with all GTDI current program talent, alumni, advisors and mentors, and program partners.
- Serve as a department advisor/coach to current program participants and alumni; provide notes and guidance to strengthen and enhance participant’s experience and capabilities; and develop, execute and track action plans to create and build career momentum during and post-program.
- Cultivate strategies to increase DEI representation on-screen, and writing and directing talent pool; meet with partners across NBCU to ideate and share best practices.
- Identify and meet with external talent (writers, directors, actors, etc.), U.S.-based or international, to consider for programs, initiatives and talent opportunities; log, assess, provide and distribute coverage of incoming talent submissions and recommendations for strategy; contribute to databases and tracking systems for production creative talent.
- Provide talent recommendations to creative executives for development/production consideration (e.g. GTDI alumni talent, experienced writers and directors not on executives’ radar).
- Provide DEI notes for live-action and animated content including but not limited to scripts, artwork, cuts, marketing material, etc.
- Research, identify and track cultural consultants for potential GTDI production recommendations.
- Contribute and execute strategies to acclimate and encourage creative and physical production executives, film term deal producers to utilize GTDI tools and resources such as, but not limited to, Array Crew.
- Participate in external and internal presentations and panels amplifying GTDI programs and initiatives.
- Identify and draft suitable content and artwork for social media platforms including, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; oversee photo coverage at events and respond to social media inquiries as needed.
- Timely prepare and process vendor invoices, program contractor timecards, expense reports, etc.
- Maintain proper recordkeeping and filing system for all work/projects for reference.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years industry experience – film, TV, agency, studio, production company, etc.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Passion for diversity, equity, inclusion, and talent development
- Knowledge and understanding of film and TV development and production process, including but not limited to writing and directing assignments and casting, for features, television, and live theatricals
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and advanced PowerPoint as well as Adobe Photoshop and PDFs

- Must be available to work extended hours and travel as needed
Desired Characteristics:
- Knowledge of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (Universal Pictures, Focus Features, DreamWorks Animation) and content, leadership and key players in the film industry
- Established relationships with production talent, including writers, directors, actors, etc.
