About the role
The Senior Program Manager, Research Integrity, reports directly to the Vice President, Research Integrity Officer and Institutional Official and plays a critical role in managing the research integrity and assurance program. With a focus on research misconduct proceedings and broader institutional initiatives related to research integrity, the role will oversee cross-functional processes and a team to achieve program outcomes and regulatory and policy compliance. The role will develop and report metrics; recommend and implement process improvements; update policy and procedural documentation; and manage external relationships with vendors (including the RFP process). Additionally, the Senior Program Manager, Research Integrity, will directly manage research misconduct proceedings—including, but not limited to, the analysis of allegations and application of policy; the sequestration/organization/maintenance of evidence; the preparation for and facilitating of meetings and interviews; and the drafting of complex, evidence-based procedural reports.
The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in any of the following: compliance in a health care or academic setting; leading complex programs; risk management; issue resolution; resource management; and/or research administration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven experience with policy analysis and writing as well as handling sensitive, confidential matters.

Job Responsibilities:
- Research misconduct allegations and conduct proper proceedings, potentially multiple at one time.
- Research and understand scientific research regulations at an advanced level.
- Professionally manage delicate, confidential matters.
- Assembling evidence and writing complex scientific, legal, or administrative investigative reports.
- Participate in all aspects of programs, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance.
- Define program objectives. Promote the program internally and externally and track program utilization.
- Establish processes, policies to support program goals.
- Evaluate program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data in support of key performance metrics.
- Ensure activities are in compliance with institutional policies and any relevant external regulations.
- Develop governance mechanisms, resource allocation and contingency planning.
- Work with cross-functional teams to achieve program outcomes.
- Provide reports and updates to senior management or other stakeholders.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to staff.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
- Bachelors degree required.
- Master's degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum Experience: 5+ progressive years of experience in a business-facing program management role.
- Experience working in an academic or healthcare compliance setting is highly preferred.
- Experience conducting research misconduct investigations is highly preferred.
- Strong experience writing complex scientific, legal, or administrative investigative reports is highly preferred.
- Professional-level writing skills are highly preferred.
- Research administration background is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are highly preferred.
- Legal background is a plus.
- Proven experience facilitating and presenting updates to leadership team.
- Experience managing a program management team is preferred.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
