Job Summary

The Associate Director supports the operations of Student Financial Services (SFS), with a keen eye towards continuous improvement and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and document office-wide processes and procedures, particularly those which utilize technology to advance office and college goals.
  • Subject areas may include packaging, file reading, student employment, customer service, or the financial services student timeline/lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary administrator and campus liaison for all systems integration and management, including maintaining the flow of information between PowerFaids, Banner (college-wide system), Technolutions Slate (Admission CRM), and Touchnet (student billing software).
  • Build, maintain, and oversee the production and dissemination of all internal and external reports including, but not limited to Common Data Set, Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium, IPEDS, and NCAA Athletic Reporting.
  • Work in partnership with Associate Director of Operation to provide consistent management experiences and expectations for staff
  • Work closely with office staff to automate processes in innovative ways using established and new computer systems.
  • Review financial aid applications and appeals in a timely manner, accurately package and award student financial aid in accordance with institutional and governmental policies and regulations.
    Reconcile federal and state funds monthly.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience in a financial aid office to include database management; thorough knowledge of Federal Title IV financial aid regulations; proven strong innovative technical skills in data management, data processing concepts and computerized systems related to financial aid; personal integrity and ethics, outstanding communication skills, and dedication to excellence in service and the delivery of financial assistance to students; ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds. The ideal candidate is passionate about improving the financial aid process through the deployment of technology and automations.

Preferred Qualifications

Substantial knowledge and experience of PowerFAIDS financial aid software and/or Banner systems as well as computer programming background, either through training or experience.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

  • Band H; $66,514 to $81,480 per year
