Qualifications / Experience
• Degree qualified in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or in a similar or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience as an Automation Engineer in a Pharma / Biopharma manufacturing and/or project environment.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Pharma / Biopharma Process Control Systems (PCS).
• Knowledge of a range of PCS systems, platforms and system integrators on the market, but with experience in Emerson Delta V a definite requirement.
• Knowledge of and experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and interface with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems.
- Experience with all levels of automation from shop floor to ERP
- Experience with Cybersecurity
- Experience with Data Historians
Competencies
• A track record of accountability in the delivery of outcomes in the design, start-up and operation of Pharma / Biopharma process control systems, specifically Delta V.
• Ability to work positively with a wide range of individuals involved in program and project leadership from both inside and outside KKNA, with an external Architectural / Engineering (A/E) design team, and with the appointed Automation Provider / System Integrator (SI).
• Strong planning and leadership skills - ability to define the resources required to plan and execute the Automation scope for the project and to work with external resources to deliver Automation outcomes to a predefined budget and schedule.
• Capability of resolving conflict effectively within a team which includes both KKNA and external resources.
• Good communication and consultative skills and the ability to listen and give clear and timely direction.
• Capability to provide detailed analysis and reporting.
Project Responsibilities
• Define the resource requirements necessary for successful execution of the Automation scope.
• Deliver Automation systems through all design phases from Basic Design onwards, and support the execution during configuration, startup, FAT/SAT, verification testing and startup as the KKNA Automation System Owner.
• Provide technical direction to Architect/Engineer (A/E) firm and later to SI partner in the development of Design Specifications, Risk Assessments, Configuration and Test Plans.
• Contribute to routine communication of project status for Automation scope (progress, budget, schedule, risk).
• Define functional content within requests for proposal (RFPs) to ensure accurate procurement of Automation related goods and services; define and approve bidder list; review, analyze and select SI partner(s), with KKNA Procurement.
