EU Risk and Compliance Associate

Zego

About the role

We’re a commercial motor insurer on a mission to save people time and money. We’re making insurance fairer and more human for every one of them.

When we started back in 2016, we knew that traditional insurance held businesses back. It was too complicated, too expensive and too time consuming. So we set out to change things, building insurance solutions that empower professional drivers throughout the UK and Europe.

So far, we’ve raised over $200 million in funding. We’ve grown from a scrappy start-up into an industry changing organisation, and there’s plenty more to come.

That’s where you come in

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive EU Risk and Compliance Associate to empower our European expansion and ensure that we play by the rules, at all times.

Zego currently has an insurance distribution hub in the Netherlands, with branches in Ireland, France and Spain - and we are expanding further across the EU.

About the role

  • You will support the EU Compliance Manager in the implementation and maintenance of our risk management framework in the Netherlands and across the EU
  • You will help to ensure our compliance with all the relevant EU regulations, including but not limited to IDD
  • You will play a key role in the functioning of our European insurance distribution hub in the Netherlands and expansion across the EU, through advice and support on day-to-day risk and compliance issues
  • You will help our EU Compliance Manager to embed our European risk framework: identify and manage risks, ensure that the relevant controls are operating effectively, key controls are tested and deficiencies are addressed
  • You will build strong alliances and maintain collaborative relationships throughout the company to promote business engagement in risk and compliance matters
  • You will work closely with the EU Compliance Manager and the group Legal and Regulatory Affairs team, as well as with the senior managers.

About you

  • You will have minimum 3 years of exposure to the EU insurance or fintech market, with focus on risk and compliance, especially the IDD
  • You will have experience working in the European insurance market
  • You’ll have great analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems
  • You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • You will have excellent cross functional collaboration skills
  • You will be someone who exhibits sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and a track record of taking ownership and influencing results
  • You will have a high degree of organisation and an ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.
