Oracle Database Administrator Senior
Location: Indianapolis, IN; Norfolk, VA (preferred). This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered.

The Oracle Database Administrator Senior will be responsible for the full range of database development, support activities and detailed analysis.
How you will make an impact:
- Develops database designs based on business requirements.
- Reviews and revises database designs and ensures that all technical and business requirements are met.
- Builds database structures based on detailed design.
- Installing and configuring Oracle database software.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex database issues.
- Setting up and managing backup and recovery processes.
- Performs database testing to ensure performance is met and compare with expected results.
- Implement and maintain database security policies and best practices.
- Provides support during the system implementation and production.
- Suggests new features, coding techniques and reference material.
- Monitoring database health and performance and automating routine tasks.
- Forecast future database needs and plan for scaling resources accordingly.
- Identifies gaps in scripts and procedures.
- Suggests options for implementation of features.
- Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Provides 24x7 production and non-production DBA on-call support.
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 5 years experience in information systems and/or database administration or related disciplines; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
- Experience with DBMS performance management and monitoring tools strongly preferred.
- Experience in utilizing DBMS system management tools and implementation of new features and functionality strongly preferred.
- Strong Oracle database administration experience with very large databases.
- Database Machine Administrator (DMA) experience a plus.
- Experience with Data Guard, NetApp, Exadata, OID, Terraform and Microsoft Cloud Azure preferred.
- Performance Tuning: Strong skills in optimizing and improving database performance, including SQL tuning and resource management.
- Architecture Knowledge: Deep understanding of Oracle Database architecture and concepts.
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Experience with designing and implementing high availability and DR solutions.
- Data Modeling and Design: Understanding of relational database design and data modeling techniques.
- Patch Management and Upgrades: Experience in planning and executing database patching and version upgrades.
- Scripting and Automation: Competence in writing scripts using shell scripting, Python, or other programming languages to automate database tasks.
- Compliance and Audit: Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and experience in conducting database audits.
