Primary Purpose: 

Efficiently receive and inspect incoming shipments of doors, millwork, and related materials, ensuring accuracy and quality before stocking into inventory. Support the assembly and staging of orders for delivery or pickup, while providing excellent customer service when assisting with loading.


 Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Material Receiving: Serve as the primary point of contact for all incoming doors, millwork, and hardware. Safely unload deliveries from vendors’ trucks, inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies, and accurately document inventory. Ensure materials are properly stored and organized in the door shop.
  • Inventory Management: Accurately stock doors, millwork, frames, and hardware, maintaining clear records and ensuring materials are readily available for orders. Perform regular inventory checks and assist with inventory control processes.
  • Order Assembly and Staging: Assemble door and millwork packages and prepare them for delivery or customer pickup, ensuring all components are correct and in excellent condition.
  • Loading and Customer Assistance: Safely load door and millwork packages onto delivery trucks or into customer vehicles. Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers and subcontractors during pickups.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in the receiving and assembly spaces, following safety standards to prevent accidents and promote efficiency.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Support other shop tasks as needed, showing a willingness to adapt and assist wherever necessary to meet production and customer needs.
  • Physical Stamina: Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy doors and millwork, maneuvering large materials, and standing or moving for extended periods, in various weather conditions if needed.
  • Tool Familiarity: Use hand and power tools safely and effectively for material handling, assembly, and minor adjustments to doors, millwork, or hardware.

Requirements

Requirements: 

  • Forklift Certification: Certified to operate forklifts or willing to obtain certification within 30 days to support safe unloading and movement of heavy doors, millwork, and materials.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically strenuous work and handle large, heavy products while maintaining safety and productivity standards.
  • Material Identification: Ability to learn and accurately identify different types of doors, millwork, frames, and hardware to ensure correct receiving and inventory management.
  • Versatility and Team Orientation: Willingness to be flexible, self-motivated, and work collaboratively to support overall shop operations.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor when assisting customers and working with team members.
