Job Description:
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Summer Intern - Paint Shop Data Analyst to join our Support Operations Team based in Mobile, AL.
This internship will be focused on data analysis of Airbus’ Mobile Manufacturing Site Paint Shop in order to identify possible root causes for aircraft paint rework.
Over the course of our 10-12-week internship program, participants will have the opportunity to:

The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities help assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. On the shop floor you’ll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality. Your Working Environment:
On ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.
Your Challenges:
Identify and gather relevant data sources (SAP, MES, Google files, manual logs, etc.).
Clean and structure the data for efficient analysis.
Ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Classify paint rework types and their root causes.
Analyze trends based on key parameters (defect type, affected areas, operator, batch, materials, etc.).
Measure the impact of rework on production time, costs, resource utilization, etc …
Develop dashboards to track rework trends.
Present insights using clear visualizations of rework location on the aircraft (graphs, reports, heat maps, etc.).
Propose data-driven recommendations to reduce rework and improve process efficiency.
Your Boarding Pass:
Required:
Willing to temporarily live in the Mobile, AL metro area during the internship.
Must be enrolled in an applicable program at least at the undergraduate Sophomore level at an accredited University
Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written
Proficiency in G-Suite and Microsoft applications, strong knowledge of technical terms.
Authorized to Work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship.
Preferred:
Studying in the following degree areas: Data, Industrial Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
