Our Raytheon Orchestration and Container Kubernetes Service (ROCKS) team is responsible for providing a secure, standard, ROCKS solid foundation for the Digital Ecosystem at Raytheon. ROCKS is a Platform Engineering team that provides an integrated container management platform built on Kubernetes and a set of managed services.
ROCKS provides a modern cloud native container orchestration platform that can be installed on air-gapped classified information systems or can be leveraged as a non-production service in shared unclassified platforms across our networks.
What you will do:
- Utilize your advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, how it operates, tools that support it and development experience to build solutions, automation, and new capabilities.
- Utilize your experience and knowledge on operating in air-gapped, restricted, DoD networks.
- Be a critical contributor to projects, initiatives, and support activities across multiple environments with a diverse set of individuals.
- Utilize your experience and knowledge on the Installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Kubernetes clusters both in the cloud, on-premises, and in restricted environments.
- Establish monitoring tools and management dashboards integrated into platforms with best practice notifications and response processes.
- Setup, maintain and automate across various infrastructure with VMWare, bare metal, AWS GovCloud, Azure for Government, and restricted, air-gapped networks.
- Develop applications, pipelines, processes, and systems to augment and enhance the ability for Kubernetes clusters to provide value to Raytheon programs and engineers.
- Partnering with Raytheon programs, engineers, and DT peers to understand their needs and solve complex problems.
- Be able to obtain a US Secret Clearance (Dept. of Defense - DOD), US Citizenship is required. You can apply for and obtain the Secret Clearance after your start date.
- This role will be onsite at one of our US Raytheon locations, preferably Northeast US (MA or RI), North Texas (Dallas Metro), or Tucson AZ. Other US Raytheon locations supported.
Basic Qualifications:
- The role typically requires a bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience or an advanced degree with 3 years of related experience. In lieu of degree, the role typically requires at least 9 years of directly related experience.
- Experience installing, deploying, monitoring, and supporting Kubernetes clusters in on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
- Must be able to obtain a transferable Secret U.S. government issued secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience designing and operating highly scalable, secure, high performing systems, platforms, and Kubernetes clusters.
- Degree in STEM is highly preferred.
- Highly desired - Experience implementing automation through CI/CD pipelines with GitLab or Jenkins, and developing custom solutions using Terraform, Helm, Python, Golang, or Bash.
