POSITION SUMMARY

 Utilizes education and skills to provide a safe environment and quality care to all patients undergoing care in the surgery center as directed by the surgeons and physicians.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  1. Supports the OR Coordinator in the facilitation of the operating room area, onboarding, hiring process, employee supervision and staffing.
  2. Monitors performance/attendance and communicates to OR Coordinator to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures across all supervised positions.
  3.     Efficiently manages day-to-day workflow of the operating room areas (i.e. staffing, supply management, etc.)
  4. Acts as a resource person to all levels of staff providing care to patients during their operative procedures.
  5. Assesses staff needs according to work load and staff competency; re-assigns and adjusts staffing based on patient care needs
  6. Provides assistance to OR Coordinator and staff to facilitate quality patient care
  7. Assists with QI, infection control, and regulatory programs as requested by the OR Coordinator
  8. Regular and predictable attendance
  9. Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others
  10. Performs other duties as assigned 

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:   Completion of an accredited post-secondary training program in nursing is required. 

Experience:   One year of experience in orthopedic surgery required. Supervisory experience is preferred. 

Computer Skills:  Must be computer literate. Basic computer skills required. 

Certifications & Licenses:  Current Tennessee RN license or current RN license from a Multi-state licensure compact required. BLS and ACLS required and must be maintained.  

PALS preferred.  If not presently certified, must be obtained within one year of hire.
