Position Overview:

Weekends & Holidays Required

  • Obtains and accurately documents required information for requests of transport.
  • Assigns effectively and instructs escort staff based on specific needs of transport.
  • Utilizes successfully communication equipment to effectively meet transportation department goals.
  • Assigns and instructs appropriate escort staff members on specific needs of transport determined by age and other factors.
  • Informs staff effectively of special transport needs required for specific routes.
  • Resolves dispatching issues and problems quickly and effectively.
  • Discusses patient issues, specific requests, and concerns with supervisor on a timely basis.
  • Initiates appropriate action to correct issues and any problems timely which may interfere with the proper functioning of communication equipment and patient transport.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:High school diploma or equivalency.

Experience:Less than one year experience.

Other Credentials:AHA Heartsaver AED

Knowledge and Skills:Must have excellent phone and customer service skills. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact, motivate and communicate with a wide range of staff and hospital personnel in a professional manner. Possesses effective organizational skills necessary to plan, organize, coordinate and direct the activities of transport requests

Special Training:Demonstrates basic clerical skills including typing. Possesses basic data entry experience, and able to operate in a fast paced environment.

Sensory Requirements include: Accurate Near Vision, Accurate Far Vision, Color Discrimination, Minimal Depth Perception, Accurate Hearing

Anticipated Occupational Exposure Risks Include the following: Airborne Communicable Disease , Dust/Particulate Matter
