Job Description

Join the HII Mission Technologies – Our team works on the only shipyard to execute the Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. The mid-life RCOH includes refueling of nuclear reactors, overhauling most machinery, and modernizing warfare systems. RCOH ensures the Navy's aircraft carriers incorporate improved capabilities needed for success in the remaining 25 years of service. Your accomplishments will make a positive impact supporting the U.S. Navy and America’s national defense! HII-Mission Technologies is looking for a Team Lead  for the RCOH Special Project Team. This requires knowledge of work practices within the Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH) to support both the ESU and CEMAT contracts.  

Essential Job Responsibilities

Leads technical teams for installations and repairs, within or across technical trades specialty. Ability to manage, oversee, schedule and assign tasks to one or more multiple jobs. Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. Maintains effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience to include at least 2 years of team/deck lead experience.
• Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
• Ability to read drawings (Electrical, Mechanical, Structural)
• Be able to uphold Quality Assurance through QA inspections.
• Knowledge of Navy Tag-out program, NSTM 300, and 3-M manual

Preferred Requirements

• Prefer technical/professional certifications.
• Prefer to provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
