Location: Hybrid (based at our offices in Parsippany, NJ 3 days per week)

Join Our Visionary Team: As a Senior/Staff Accountant here at OLI, you will play a critical role managing key accounting functions, including Revenue and Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, and Government Grant Reporting. The ideal candidate will combine technical accounting expertise with a proactive approach to improving processes, in a high-growth environment.

Your Role: Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role is integral to ensure the financial health of the company by streamlining processes, maintaining timely and accurate financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Your organizational and time-management skills and attention to detail will play a key role in driving operational excellence and supporting the company’s growth objectives.

Your role in managing Revenue and AR will help ensure accurate and reliable cash flow, helping drive sustained growth.

Your ability to collaborate and communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization and exercise sound judgment in generating insights will drive meaningful impact early and often.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting

  • Revenue Recognition: ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition, including contract review, revenue calculations, and preparation of monthly revenue, and deferred reconciliations.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable: reconcile AR and cash receipts, maintain and monitor AR aging reports, investigating and addressing any overdue accounts.
  • Month End-close activities: prepare and post journal entries, reconcile bank and general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and supporting financial reporting.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly cashflow reports for key internal stakeholders.
  • Assist finance team with sales tax compliance and strict adherence to reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate areas for process improvement and automation.

Billing and Contracts Administration

  • Manage the end-to-end billing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of customer invoices.
  • Coordinate with legal and finance stakeholders to address contract and billing-related issues.
  • Prepare and reconcile third party commission fee reports, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to stakeholders.
  • Track and maintain records of subscription licensing, user counts, and usage thresholds to ensure compliance with contract terms and billing accuracy.

Government Grants Administration and Reporting

  • Proposal Support: assist in preparing grant applications and proposals, ensuring alignment with funding and internal requirements.
  • Grant Administration: oversee the administration of government grants, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and funding guidelines.
  • Grant Reporting: review the terms and conditions of each grant agreement to ensure compliance and prepare timely and accurate reports on budget and program expenses in accordance with grant requirements.
  • Grant Compliance: collaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditors to ensure strict compliance with federal grant regulations and the OMB Uniform Guidance.

We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience in a high-growth environment (preferably in technology) or public accounting.
  • Familiarity with federal government grant compliance and reporting requirements – preferred.
  • Sales tax experience in a SaaS business – a plus.
  • CPA or CPA candidate – a plus.

Other Requirements

  • Proficiency in accounting software and tools (e.g., MS Office, Dynamics 365).
