Description

We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated professional to present elective refractive (vision correction) procedure options to patients and prospective patients of the Thomas Eye Group. This position is responsible for executing a consultative presentation process matching refractive procedure options with the goals of patients and scheduling refractive procedures that are in the best interests of patients. This role serves as the primary driver of patient engagement, consult conversion, and surgical volume growth. They respond promptly to patient inquiries, proactively reach out to draw patients into the Vision Correction Center and use consultative surgery counseling consistent with elective healthcare standards to address concerns and close cases to surgery.

Core Competencies: 

  • Respond to leads and inquiries to the practice regarding refractive surgery from a variety of lead generation activities
  • Present, promote refractive surgery services using consultative counseling to existing and prospective patients
  • Coordinate efforts with marketing, business development, and clinical team members
  • Track leads and their progress through the decision process, providing reports as needed
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends
  • Continuously improve through feedback
  • Coordinate refractive scheduling/surgery
  • Calculate and collect payment prior to scheduling a surgery date
  • Work with the Refractive team to prepare surgical charts for the surgeons
  • Confirm that all necessary documentation and testing is included in the patient charts
  • Assist with surgery day clinic flow

Performance Expectations: 

  • Lead Response
    • Respond to all new refractive leads within 24 hours.
    • Maintain an average lead response time of <1 hour during business hours.
  • Consult-to-Surgery Conversion
    • Achieve a minimum consult conversion rate of 50% (percentage of consults scheduled that proceed to surgery).
  • Follow-Up Engagement
    • Maintain consistent contact with 100% of patients who do not immediately book surgery, with at least 2 documented follow-up attempts.

 

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education:            Bachelors degree in a related field.                                                                         

Required Minimum Experience:          3+ years in refractive surgery counseling or other medical sales experience

 

A combination of experience, education, and/or training which substantially demonstrates the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Proficient in the basic functionality and use of CRMs
  • Interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of people each day and build relationships
  • Verbal communication skills, especially persuasion, to clearly convey the benefits of refractive surgery to patients
  • Highly effective written communication skills
  • Customer service skills to listen to the concerns of a customer and be able to address their needs
  • Confidence and strong self-assuredness to succeed in maintaining a high level of activity
