DoorDash Labs is an independent team within DoorDash. We are working on building autonomous delivery robots from the ground-up as part of DoorDash's core delivery platform. If you have a passion for applying robotics solutions in a service used by millions of people, then we want to talk to you!

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior iOS Engineer to help bring new options to last mile delivery. In this role, you’ll work with multiple stakeholders including Product, Engineering, and Operations to develop and improve our iOS capabilities for a next gen project. You’ll be researching, designing and implementing solutions to enable large scale delivery systems.

• Work within DoorDash Labs, a R&D team building out the next big thing in last mile delivery
• Improve our code base through continuous refactoring 
• Solve challenging real-time data transfer and synchronization problems 
• Extend and implement our APIs 
• Implement unit tests 
• Keep up-to-date with cutting-edge technologies in production (we use SwiftUI, Combine, SPM, previews, and even async await)

We're excited about you because you have... 

• B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or equivalent, with 5 years of experience is preferred 
• Proficiency in Swift, and the iOS ecosystem 
• Familiarity with networking,and dependency management tools 
• Systems and OOP knowledge 
• Experience building, launching, and iterating on mobile apps

Compensation

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

• For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
• For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).

The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within the United States.$159,800—$235,000 USD
