Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and guest-focused Restaurant Captain to join our team at our Premium Airport Lounge Restaurant at JFK. As the Restaurant Captain, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. You will oversee the dining room team, coordinate with kitchen staff, and uphold high standards of service excellence.
Responsibilities:
•    Supervise and lead the dining room team to ensure seamless service delivery.
•    Welcome guests warmly, escort them to their tables, and provide menus.
•    Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently, ensuring maximum utilization of space.
•    Take orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen promptly.
•    Ensure that food and beverages are served promptly and according to the restaurant's standards.
•    Monitor the dining room atmosphere, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and ambiance are maintained at all times.
•    Address guest concerns and complaints promptly and effectively, striving to resolve issues to the guest's satisfaction.
•    Train and mentor dining room staff on service standards, product knowledge, and customer engagement techniques.
•    Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate menu specials, events, and other relevant information to the team.
•    Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth coordination between the front and back of the house.
•    Monitor inventory levels of dining room supplies and communicate needs to management.
•    Uphold health and safety standards, including food safety and sanitation practices.
•    Assist with opening and closing duties as required.
•    Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
•    Proven experience as a Restaurant Captain or similar role in a high-end dining establishment.
•    Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for hospitality.
•    Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
•    Attention to detail and a keen eye for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
•    Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including wine service and menu pairing.
•    Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
•    Basic computer skills for handling reservations and processing orders.
•    Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
•    TIPS or similar certification preferred.
•    A positive attitude and a commitment to delivering memorable dining experiences to our guests.
