Assistant Aquatics Director

The Assistant Director of Aquatics plays a key role in assisting with the oversight of the entire aquatics department, focusing primarily on swim program development while contributing to the effective management of the department as a whole. This position works closely with the Aquatics Director to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs, staff development, safety, and member engagement. The Assistant Director of Aquatics will support the day-to-day operations, manage swim lessons, assist with department-wide tasks, and ensure a collaborative, member-focused environment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Swim Program Leadership: Manage swim lesson schedules, instructors, and participant communication. Additionally, track progress, and support lesson development with the association. 

• Staff Management & Training: Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and certifications for swim instructors and lifeguards. 

• Member Engagement: Provide excellent service and communication, fostering positive relationships with members. 

• Program Administration: Assist with session registration, program scheduling, member communication, payroll, and collaboration to improve performance. 

• Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean, compliant aquatic environment. 

• All Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional tasks as required to support department operations.  

• 6+ months of aquatics experience (Swim Instructor, Lifeguard, etc.). 

• Active Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, AED, and SSYMCA Swim Instructor certifications. 

• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. 

Work Environment/Schedule: 

• Full-time, 40 hours/week, evening and weekend availability required.
